NSW DPI Fisheries Officers seized 790 cockles from 10 people apprehended at Cabarita Park, Bayview Park near Hen & Chicken Bay and the Parramatta River recently.

A number of people were fined for taking shellfish from closed waters, possessing more than the limit for fish and for not having paid the recreational fishing fee. The 790 cockles were returned to the water #fineswithyourfish

Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson) and all its tributaries are closed to the taking of any species of shellfish (eg. pipis, cockles, mussels, snails, whelks, oysters and abalone). #collectingontherocks
