NSW DPI Fisheries officers netted on a man on Lake Macquarie last week after noticing suspicious activity near the Gwandalan boat ramp.

After a period of surveillance, Officers inspected a boat in Crangan Bay believed to be connected to the suspicious activity.

During a search of the boat, officers found a 20m long monofilament meshing net in a bucket. Officers seized the net. 

The man faces fines up to a maximum of $44,000 and 12 months in jail. #fineswithyourfish
